Minor Setback, Major Sacrifices

I received word today that a story I wrote set for publication this winter called Creation Myth had to be dropped from the magazine due to budget cutbacks.  Without giving anything away to you, the story features at least David Bowie, but possibly another other-worldly musician from the future–from now? 15. Argument (9.1.2008)

16. Jain Hill, Big Argument About Cultural Responsibility (9.8.2008)

An extensive rant on Western expectations and gender norms prompted by a faux pau in a religious place–a gaff, at least, as perceived by our American comrades. But what about the villagers? Hmm? What about them?

20. Fury (11.12.2008)

While consumed with research for my ethnographic paper (Which is online. And posted under “ethnography.”), I didn’t have much time for reflection in my journal. However, after the state elections, I was enraged by the passing of Proposition 8. Though I contemplated buying a rifle and learning to use it, or threatening some senators and others, I wrote this thoughtful rant instead.
